A Place Revisited
The project A Place Revisited consists of paintings of architectural structures found in cities from my childhood in Monclova, Mexico, and San Antonio, Texas. The images have been fragmented through the intervention of digital and analog tools in order to create structural and spatial ambiguity.
These recent paintings are not mere portraits of a city, but rather, a visual analogy of the destabilization of personal identity structures — especially as they relate to my own perceived cultural identity.
