Hello! You may have known me for years, or maybe you just found this blog, but since it is my very first post it seems appropriate to begin with an introduction: My name is Dario S. Bucheli, I am a Mexican contemporary artist currently based in Texas. BEYOND THE GENERIC "BIO" I have been doing creative work for as long as I can remember. When I was a child all I wanted was a stack of plain white paper, pens, and colored pencils so I could write and draw. In high school I won the senior superlative of Most Creative. I do remember that for "career day" (a day you are allowed to come to school dressed as your dream job) I dressed up as an artist. I'm not going to tell you what that looked like, because it's embarrassing. I'll just say that it involved a beret. My artistic career began ten years ago in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. I received my BA in Studio Art from the University of Dallas (Irving, TX) and my MFA in Studio Art from TCU (Fort Worth, TX). Both of my degrees were formative experiences that deserve their own future posts so make sure to check back in. Since then I moved to Southeast Texas, where I work as a museum Curator of Collections. I like to say that in my professional life I "make art and also take care of other people's art". WHY WRITE A BLOG You may be asking yourself "why write a blog?". It's a good question. I've been asking myself the same. I know it's something I've wanted to do for a while. This is why:
This single post could not cover everything there is to say. That's okay, because there will be more. For now, my intention is to post once or twice a month, because that is what I can manage at the moment. One last thing before closing: thank you for the gift of you attention, truly. I'm happy you're here. If you want to be notified when a blog post drops, please leave your email below. I will not send emails about anything else unless you agree to. One last time: thank you.
